I have found that music can be a male-dominated space to live in, so embracing this level of femininity was an exciting challenge for me. It really was difficult for me to go, "Okay, I can be feminine and soft as well as strong and take care of me and not shrink my own self." I've loved it somewhat, I've enjoyed having a dress and heels all day long and sporting pretty curls and soft materials. There was pressure as I am a newer actor as compared to the other actors involved in Fantastic Beasts. In the process of auditioning, I was struck by the feeling that there was this huge power in front of me. The choice was whether I'd fall under this weight and fall since I was so desperate to do it. Or I could step up and let it propel me to the next level. The idea of spending a day in museums, cafes, parks or simply taking a walk and observing the crowds is something that I like. In LA you can be quite isolated, but in London it is possible to ride the Tube and you are within the midst of people as well as every other type of human you could imagine is walking on. I like watching people. I'm from the music industry, that is where you're always in the presence of males, and you're sure that you're surrounded by intimate relationships almost every minute working with men. It's an amazing surreal dream for me, I read all of the books. I've also read a couple of tours' books, in fact which is really wonderful having that type of universe to escape to, because when you're on the road, you're moving from one city to the next and then it's all confusing, and going to an incredibly vivid and vibrant world when you sleep in your bunk can be quite enchanting.
